As a third generation farm descendent I grew up having a connection to the land. The lure, the peace of painting on location has attracted me. My location painting has been primarily in Waterton, the Oldman River bottom, and the Coutts Centre for Western Canadian Heritage. I was one of the original members of the Oldman Outdoor Painters (OOPS) group. We painted together on location in Waterton on the eastern slopes of the Canadian Rockies.
Later, group shows were mounted at the Medicine Hat Museum and the Bowman Art Centre. I briefly taught location painting for the Lethbridge Community College (now Lethbridge College). My location work now takes me to the Coutts Centre for Western Canadian Heritage.
One of my Rural Prairie Communities series (Nanton) has been on permanent display since 2014. The joy of painting En Plein Air remains.
